More than 300 kilometers of groomed trails welcome you to one of the finest ski networks in the Midwest. Skis whisper in the tracks past moose yards, tall pines, snow-laced spruce, scenic vistas, and old trappers' trails. Try out some of these excellent trails: Cascade River State Park/Deeryard Lake Trails- 64km groomed/tracked, Bally Creek Trails- 30km groomed/tracked, Pincushion Mountain Trails- 25km groomed/tracked, George Washington Memorial Forest- 3km groomed occasionally, Banadad Trail- 36km groomed/tracked, Central Gunflint Trails- 70km groomed/tracked, and Judge Magney State Park- 8km groomed/tracked. SnowshoeingSnowshoeing has become an increasingly popular winter sport on the North Shore. Whether you trek one of the many hiking trails, follow the shoreline, or venture onto unbeaten paths, it is one of the best ways to experience the beauty and solitude of winter in the wilderness.
